Who can run for office?
Any current chess club member in good standing is eligible to run for Co-President or Vice President positions.
What is the Chess Party system?
The Chess Party system is a fun way to organize our election. Each candidate creates their own "political party" with chess themes to make the election more engaging.
How long is the term of office?
Officers will serve for the entire 2025-2026 school year, from September to June.
What responsibilities do the presidents have?
Presidents lead weekly meetings, organize tournaments, represent the club at school events, and select the executive committee members.
How does the voting process work?
Members vote by party. The two parties with the most votes for Co-President will have their candidates elected, and the party with the most votes for Vice President will have their candidate elected.
What happens after the election?
The elected Co-Presidents will select the remainder of the executive committee and begin planning for the upcoming school year.
